RESOLUTION NO. 5386 <br /> <br />BY: <br /> <br />Salmon, Wendling, Brown, <br />Magnlotto, McBride, Chinnock <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor, as ex- <br />officio Director of Public Works, to advertize for bids:and enter into a con- <br />tract with the lowest and best bidder for the construction of new water mains <br />in the following streets: <br /> <br /> Cove Avenue - between Lake and Clifton, 12 inch main, approximately 400 feet <br /> <br /> and to include a new water meter vault. <br /> Woodward Avenue - between Seneca and Fischer, 8 inch main, approximately 650 ft. <br /> <br />together with connections and necessary appurtenances. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ replacement of the exmsting 6-inch water mains in the above streets <br />is necessary because of inadeouate size and extensive deterioration in the exist- <br />lng mains, and, ~' <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has determined to proceed with the improvement <br /> set for:th in the title hereof by contract, and <br /> <br /> WHEP~EAS, this Resoluhion constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br /> the immediate preservation of the public health and safety and for the <br /> usual daily operatmon of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT P~ESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWO©D, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The Mayor, as ex-officio Director of Public Works be and <br />he is hereby authorized to advertise and enter into a contract with the loweSt <br />and best bidder for the construction of approximately 400 feet of 12-inch <br />water main and a new water meter vault in Cove Avenue between Lake and Clifton, <br />and approximately 650 feet of 8-inch water main an Woodward Avenue between Seneca <br />and Fischer, together with conneetlons and necessary appurtenances, in accordance <br />with plans prepared therefor in the office of the City Engineer. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The estimated total cost of the lmprovememts set forth in the <br />title hereof is $87,000. and these funds will be avallabl~e in the Capital <br />Outlay and Depreciation Fund. <br /> <br /> Section 3. This resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof, and provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoptlonLand approval by ~he <br />Mayor. <br /> <br /> President <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
