RESOLUTION NO. 5416 <br /> <br />BY:Salmon, Wendling, Brockman, <br /> Chinnock,McBride, McNally, <br /> Brown <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing a~d directing the <br />Mayor. on behalf of the City of Lakewood, to make application for <br />financial assistance under Title IID of the Comprehensive Employment <br />and Training Act of 1973 as amended and to execute a contract with <br />the Cuyahoga-Parma-Geauga Employment and Training Consortium for <br />participation in a program under the Emergency Jobs and Unemployment <br />Assistance Act of 1974. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has been determined by the <br />United States Department of Labor to be an eligilble program agent <br />under Title IID Emergency Job Program, Comprehensive Employment <br />and Training Act, as amended, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ the Cuyahoga-Parma-Geauga Employment and <br />Training Consortium has received funds for the Gity of Lakewood <br />for use by the City in the Emergency Job Program, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is in neled of financial <br />assistance in order to aid in the alleviation ofi the problems of <br />the unemployed within the City, and <br /> <br /> WHEBEAS, this Resolution constitutes aln emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, <br />safety and welfare and for the further reason thlat these funds <br />must be applied for at the earliest possible timle; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CIITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf ~f the City of <br />Lakewood, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to make <br />application for funds under Title IID Emergency Job Program, <br />Comprehensive Employment and Training Act, as amDnded. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Mayor., on behalf Df the City of <br />Lakewood, be and he is authorized and directed tb execute a contract <br />with the Cuyahoga-Parma-Geauga Employment and Training Consortium <br />for participation in the Emergency Job Program udder the Emergency <br />Jobs and Unemployment Assistance Act of 1974. <br /> <br /> Section 3.
