RESOLUTION NO. 5446 BY: Salmon, Wendling, Brown, <br /> Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor, <br />on behalf of the City of Lakewood, to accept such grant and enter into a <br />contract with Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners covering Social Services, <br />such grant providing partial funding for supplemental funds under Title III-B <br />of the 1973 Older Americans Act, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners is <br />administering a program of grants from the Federal Government, under <br />Title III-B of the 1973 Older Americans Act, whereby this City may obtain <br />monies to provide Programs for persons 60 years of age or older, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The City of Lakewood is in need of financial assistance <br />in order to maintain the present Programs for Senior Citizens, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emer§ency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public:health, safety <br />and welfare and for the further reason that these funds can be obtained <br />at the present time; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, <br />be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract <br />with the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners, providing partial <br />funding of the City's Program under Title III-B of the 1973 Older Americans <br />Act. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this resolution is hereby d~clared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamblle hereof, and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirdsl of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted <br /> <br />1/15/80 <br /> <br /> <br />
