RESOLUTION NO. 5494 <br /> <br />BY: Salmon, Wendling, Brown, <br /> ~hinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the printing, publishing and <br />distribution to the residents of the City, of a FinanciallStatus Report, under <br />the supervision and direction of the Director of Finance. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Article VIII, Section 3 of the Amendedl Charter of the City <br />of Lakewood authorizes the Director of Finance to report as deemed necessary <br />to the public as to the financial status of the City, andl <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in view of the fact that the electors Of the City are to <br />vote at the Municipal Election to be held November 4, 1980, on the issue of <br />whether or not the income tax rate of the City should be increased from 1% to <br />1.5%, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council determines that it would be in the best interests <br />of the City to furnish its residents with a report of the! financial condition <br />of the City so that they may be better informed as to the income tax issue, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Council is desirous to provide for theiprinting, publishing <br />and distribution of said report from the City of Lakewoodlto the residents of the <br />City, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such report should be furnished at theiearliest possible time <br />inasmuch as the election relating to the increase in the ~ate of income tax is <br />to be held within thirty (30) days of the date hereof; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council hereby authorizes the printing, publishing <br />and distribution to the residents of the City, of a Finanlcial Status Report, <br />under the supervision and direction of the Director of Finance, which report <br />shall relate the recorded facts in such summaries and schedules in detailed <br />support thereof, as shall show the full effect of such tr!ansactions for the <br />1981 fiscal year upon the finances of the City, and in reilation to each <br />department of the City, and such other information as'the Director of Finance <br />shall deem appropriate to inform the residents of Lakewood as to the City's <br />current financial status. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Finance is hereby authorized and <br />instructed to mail a copy of the Financial Status Report provided for in <br />Section i hereof to the residents of the City. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That printing charges, if any, and mailing expenses shall <br />be charged to the "General Fund - Annual Reports" Account; provided, however, <br />said costs shall not exceed $3,500.00 in the aggregate, Which funds are hereby <br />additionally appropriated. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this Resolution is hereby decllared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br /> <br />Mayor. <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />~~ Preside?¢~~ <br /> <br /> <br />
