<br /> PESOLUTION N0. 5700 gy; Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor ex-officio <br /> <br /> Director of Public Safety to enter into a contract or contracts for the <br /> purchase of communications equipment for the Division of Police, Department of <br /> Public Safety. <br /> WHEREAS, present communications equipment in the Division of Police <br /> is of such age and condition as to require continual repair resulting in <br /> extended periods of time when it is not available for use because of such <br /> needed repair, and <br /> WHEREAS, the current equipment fails to provide a degree of reliabil- <br /> ity either because it is outdated or is limited in its capabilities by design <br /> and should be replaced with new communications equipment, and <br /> bdFiEREAS, this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure in that it <br /> provides for the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare and <br /> for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor ex-officio Director of Public Safety be <br /> and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract or contracts <br /> for the purchase of communications equipment consisting of up to four (4) four- <br /> channel mobile radios; two (2) dual-band, multi-frequency mobile radios; and <br /> seven (7) portable radios, plus related equipment with the lowest and best <br /> bidder or bidders after advertisement according to law. <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br /> this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were <br /> adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of <br /> this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, <br /> were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements <br /> including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> Section 3. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br /> emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, <br /> it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval <br /> by the Piayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the <br /> earliest period allowed by law. <br /> ~l'` e <br /> Adopted: _ <br /> IDE <br /> C R <br /> Approved: ~ -~~2-,, r <br /> 0 <br /> <br />
