RESOLUTION N0. 5822-84 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Dennis E. Golem for his public service as Dir- <br /> ector of Finance of the City of Lakewood. <br /> WHEREAS, Dennis E. Golem was appointed Director of Finance of the <br /> City of Lakewood on December 1, 1979, bringing with him eight years of <br /> experience in the field of municipal finance, and <br /> WHEREAS, his ready acceptance of responsibility, efficiency of perfor- <br /> mance and leadership ability are evidenced by his significant contributions to <br /> the City, including the installation of computor operations in several City de- <br /> partments; developing the plan for automating City office work; the institution <br /> of the City's first five year capital improvement program; and the maintenance <br /> of the City's AA bond rating during difficult economic times, and <br /> WHEREAS, under the leadership of Dennis E. Golem, the Finance Depart- <br /> ment has achieved an enviable record of performance, service and respect as evi- <br /> denced by the award to the City of Lakewood of the Municipal Finance Officers <br /> Association's Certificate of Conformance Award of Achievement 1982-1983 and <br /> that Association's Professional Achievement Recognition Award to Mr. Golem <br /> personally 1981-1982-1983, and <br /> WHEREAS, Dennis E. Golem, a member of the Board of Trustees of the <br /> Regional Income Tax Agency and the Lakewood Little Theatre, has resigned his po- <br /> sition with the City of Lakewood effective December 31, 1983, to accept a posi- <br /> tion with a national underwriting firm in municipal finance; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That this Council extends to Mr. Dennis E. Golem its <br /> appreciation and that of all of the citizens of this community for his more <br /> than four years of distinguished public service as Director of Finance of the <br /> City of Lakewood and further that this Council wishes him continued happiness <br /> and success in his new endeavor. <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized <br /> and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Dennis E.
