RESOLUTION N0. 5866-84 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Graham, McBride, <br /> Salmon, Wendling <br /> A RESOLUTION designating the Lakewood Municipal. Jail as a five-day jail <br /> for the purpose of the Ohio Minimum Jail Standards. <br /> WHEREAS, Ohio Revised Code Section 753.03 provides that a municipal <br /> legislative authority may provide for the keeping of persons convicted and <br /> sentenced for misdemeanors during their term of imprisonment at such place <br /> as the legislative authority determines, provided that the place selected is <br /> in substantial compliance with the Ohio Minimum Standards for Jails; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Lakewood Chief of Police, after consultation with the Ohio <br /> Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections, recommends that Lakewood's jail <br /> be classified as a five-day jail; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br /> CUYAHOGA COUNTY, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> SECTION 1. That the Council of the City of Lakewood hereby designates <br /> the Lakewood Punicipal Jail as a five-day jail in accordance with the require- <br /> ments o~F the Ohio D1inimum Jail Standards. <br /> SECTION 2. That all persons who are required to be incarcerated for <br /> periods of greater than five days shall be transferred to the City of Cleveland <br /> Workhouse or other appropriate facility. <br /> SE TION 3.
