RESOLUTION N0. 5876-84 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> A RESOLUTION toicommend the Lakewood Christian Service Center on its <br /> second anniversary and for the public service it renders to the citizens of the <br /> City of Lakewood. <br /> WHEREAS, the Lakewood Christian Service Center was originally estab- <br /> lished in 1982 to provid@ assistance to those less fortunate citizens of the <br /> City who may be hungry, joUless and without adequate income assistance, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Lakewood Christian Service Center, sponsored by twenty <br /> Lakewood churches and receliving support from many civic groups and individuals, <br /> makes available to those citizens between the ages of 21 and 62, a human <br /> service center where no such community service existed, and <br /> WHEREAS, included among the services made available by the Center <br /> are: providing persons wBth three days emergency supply of food and paper <br /> products; a job assistance connection program; assistance with housing, utility <br /> and other basic human ~1eed problems; an outreach program; and sponsoring <br /> classes in basic survival Skills development, and <br /> WHEREAS, on the second anniversary of its existence, it is fitting <br /> and proper that the cor~munity service rendered by the Lakewood Christian <br /> Service Center be recogniz@d in a proper and fitting and manner; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That the Council of the City of Lakewood extends to the <br /> Lakewood Christian Service Center its gratitude and sincere appreciation and <br /> that of all of the citizelns of this community for its outstanding contribution <br /> and valued public servicelin caring for the needs of the residents of the City <br /> of Lakewood, and further that this Council wishes the Lakewood Christian <br /> Service Center many more years of continued responsive community service in the <br /> future. <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized <br /> and directed to forward ~ certified copy of this Resolution to the Lakewood <br /> Christian Service Center, 113310 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, 44107, and that <br /> a copy of t1his resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br /> Approved• ~~~~Gt,,ff aC,~_ <br /> <br />
