RESOLUTION N0. 5877-84 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor, on <br /> behalf of the City of Lakewood to accept a job training grant and enter into a <br /> contract with the Cuyahog4 County Office of Employment and Training under the <br /> auspices of the Cuyahoga County Commissioners to provide for youth preemployment <br /> and work maturity skills fqr the Youth Service Office of the City of Lakewood. <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of Employment and Training Administration under <br /> the auspices of the Cuyahoga County Commissioners has advised the City of its <br /> intent to contract with the Lakewood Youth Service for the program year 1984 <br /> under Title 11A of the Job (Training Partnership Act (JTPA), and <br /> WHEREAS, said contract will be for youth preemployment and work matu- <br /> rity skills whereby approximately 180 youths will be served at a cost not to ex- <br /> ceed $48,184.00, and <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing <br /> for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for <br /> the further reason that the funds can be made available to the City at the <br /> present time; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor for and on behalf of the City, be and he <br /> is hereby authorized to accept a job training grant and enter into a contract <br /> with the Office of Employment and Training Administration under the auspices of <br /> the Cuyahoga County Commissioners in the approximate amount of $48,184.00 for a <br /> <br /> youth preemployment and work maturity skills program for the Youth Service <br /> Office of the City. <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br /> this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were <br /> adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of <br /> this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action <br /> were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements <br /> including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> Section 3. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br /> emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it <br /> receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, <br /> it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval <br /> by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the <br /> earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br /> Adopted: ~V1 yV"`~ / / / <br /> K <br /> OR <br /> <br />
