RESOLUTION N0. 5877-84 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, McBride, Salmon, Wendling AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood to accept a job training grant and enter into a contract with the Cuyahog4 County Office of Employment and Training under the auspices of the Cuyahoga County Commissioners to provide for youth preemployment and work maturity skills fqr the Youth Service Office of the City of Lakewood. WHEREAS, the Office of Employment and Training Administration under the auspices of the Cuyahoga County Commissioners has advised the City of its intent to contract with the Lakewood Youth Service for the program year 1984 under Title 11A of the Job (Training Partnership Act (JTPA), and WHEREAS, said contract will be for youth preemployment and work matu- rity skills whereby approximately 180 youths will be served at a cost not to ex- ceed $48,184.00, and WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that the funds can be made available to the City at the present time; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the Mayor for and on behalf of the City, be and he is hereby authorized to accept a job training grant and enter into a contract with the Office of Employment and Training Administration under the auspices of the Cuyahoga County Commissioners in the approximate amount of $48,184.00 for a youth preemployment and work maturity skills program for the Youth Service Office of the City. Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. Section 3. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law.
