<br /> 'RESOLUTION N0. 5929-85 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> A RESOLUTION recognizing and honoring the 2,483 Americans still <br /> missing, or otherwise unaccounted for, in Indochina, and <br /> WHEREAS, MIA and POW families still suffer untold grief due to the <br /> uncertainty about the fate of their loved ones, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam has indicated that they <br /> will accelerate their efforts to cooperate with our government in resolving <br /> this humanitarian issue, and <br /> WHEREAS, the leadership of our great country has declared resolution <br /> of the POW/MIA issue a matter of highest national priority, and <br /> WHEREAS, the citizens of Lakewood urge our government's continued <br /> efforts in every possible way to obtain the immediate release of any American <br /> who may still be held captive in Indochina, as well as the return of Americans <br /> whose remains have not been repatriated; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That the Council of the City of Lakewood extend to this <br /> City's local network of MIA and POW families and VFW Hall 378 its appreciation <br /> and that of all of the citizens of this community for these organizations' <br /> continued commitment and dedication to resolving the plight of this country's <br /> MIA's and POW's. <br /> Section 2.
