w <br /> RESOLUTION N0.5956-85 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br /> Graham, Salmon, Wendling <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Michael J. Connors for his public service as <br /> City Engineer of the City of Lakewood. <br /> WHEREAS, Michael J. Connors was appointed to the Division of Engineer- <br /> ing, Department of Public Works on July 6, 1981, and on March 8, 1982, was <br /> elevated to the position of City Engineer, and <br /> WHEREAS, during his tenure with the City, Mr. Connors was responsible <br /> for administering more than $35 million in city improvement projects, including <br /> the rehabilitation and expansion of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and the con- <br /> struction of the breakwall and fishing pier at Lakewood Park, and <br /> WHEREAS, in 1982, Mr. Connors developed a downspout disconnection pro- <br /> gram in the City to alleviate basement flooding during storms and under his <br /> leadership Lakewood became the first city in Ohio to receive EPA approval for a <br /> land application of sludge program, and <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Connors, who also served this community ably and with dis- <br /> tinction as a member of the City Planning Commission and consultant to the Board <br /> of Revision of Assessments, has resigned his position with the City effective <br /> May 28, 1985, to accept appointment as Chief Engineer for the Ohio Department of <br /> Natural Resources, and <br /> WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the dedicated public service ren- <br /> dered by Michael J. Connors as City Engineer of the City of Lakewood be given pub- <br /> lic cognizance and recognition; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That this Council extends to Michael J. Connors its appre- <br /> ciation and that of all ofthe citizens of this community for his more than three <br /> years of distinguished public service to the City of Lakewood as City Engineer <br /> and further and this Council wishes him continued success in his new endeavor. <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized <br /> and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Michael J. <br /> Connors, 3901 Riveredge Road, Cleveland, Ohio, 44111, and that a copy of this <br /> Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> Adopted: 3 <br /> C <br /> <br /> Approved: ~ ~ <br /> OR~ <br /> <br />
