RESOLUTION N0. 5971-85 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallaghe <br /> Graham, Salmon <br /> A RESOLUTION expressing to the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners <br /> the selection of Mayor Anthony C. Sinagra to serve as the Mayors and City Managers <br /> Association's representative to the five-member 9-1-1 Planning Committee. <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 4431,32 of the Ohio Revised Code, the <br /> Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners has established a five-member 9-1-1 Planning <br /> Committee; and <br /> WHEREAS, said section prescribes that one member of the 9-1-1 Planning <br /> Committee shall be "The chief executive officer of a municipal corporation in <br /> the county, selected by the majority of the legislative authorities of muni- <br /> cipal corporations in the county pursuant to resolutions they adopt;" and <br /> WHEREAS, the implementation of a countywide "E 9-1-1" universal emer- <br /> gency telephone number is necessary in order that we may better protect the <br /> health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Lakewood, as well as the residents <br /> of our entire county; and, <br /> WHEREAS, there are more than 1200 such emergency operations in the <br /> United States; and <br /> WHEREAS, the value of this system has been proven time and time again; <br /> now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That this Council, for and on behalf of the residents <br /> of the City of Lakewood, do hereby express to the Cuyahoga County Board of Commis- <br /> sioners its selection of Lakewood's Mayor Anthony C. Sinagra, President of the <br /> Cuyahoga County Mayors and City Managers Association, as this community's repre- <br /> sentative to the aforementioned 9-1-1 Planning Committee. <br /> Section 2. That the. Clerk of Council be, and she is hereby authorized <br /> and directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to Mr. Melvin B. <br /> Mixner, Manager, Board of County Commissioners, 410 County Administration Building, <br /> 1219 Ontario Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44113; and to Mr. Allan R.
