<br /> RESOLUTION NO. 6022-86 ~ By: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend John L. Scofield for his public <br /> service as Superintend nt of the Division of Water of the City of <br /> Lakewood. <br /> WHEREAS, on De ember 27, 1948, John L. Scofield was employed <br /> by the City as Draftsman Clerk in the Division of Water; was promoted <br /> to Assistant City Engine r "C", Department of Public Works on October <br /> 17, 1960'; promoted to Assistant City Engineer "B" on February 16, <br /> 1964; and on July 1, 1968, was appointed Superintendent of the <br /> Division of Water, and <br /> WHEREAS, during his tenure as Superintendent, Mr. Scofield <br /> directly supervised the installation of over 5.5 miles of new water <br /> mains; initiated several new and innovative construction procedures <br /> which are now also being used by the Cleveland Water Department; <br /> initiated outside water eter reading; and introduced an electronic <br /> data processing system fo Water Department billing, and <br /> WHEREAS, throw h his personal warmth and friendly manner, <br /> Mr. Scofield has won th affection of his fellow City employees and <br /> all those who came in con act with him, and the Division of Water has <br /> achieved an enviable reco d of performance, service, and respect under <br /> his leadership and direct'on, and <br /> WHEREAS, upon his retirement January 10, 1986, John L. <br /> Scofield completed thirt -seven years of dedicated public service to <br /> the City of Lakewood and 't is fitting and proper that such service be <br /> recognized in a proper anII fitting manner; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br /> OF OHIO: Ii <br /> Section 1. Tha this Council extends to Superintendent John <br /> L. Scofield its appreci tion and that of all of the citizens of this <br /> community for his thirty seven years of dedicated public service to <br /> the City of Lakewood nd further that this Council wishes him <br /> continued years of health happiness and prosperity in his retirement. <br /> Section 2. T at the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby <br /> authorized and directed t forward a certified copy of this Resolution <br /> to Mr. John L.
