RESOLUTION N0. 6168-87 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br /> Graham, McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> A RESOLUTION extending congratulations to Jane S. Hawthorne <br /> on being the recipient of Lakewood's "Spirit of 87" Award in the <br /> category of "Education and Civic Responsibility." <br /> WHEREAS, "Spirit of 87" Awards are a major recognition <br /> activity in the State of Ohio for the Bicentennial Celebration of the <br /> signing of the United States Constitution and the Northwest Ordinance, <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Jane S. Hawthorne has been selected by the Lakewood <br /> United States Constitution/Centennial Commission as Lakewood's "Spirit <br /> of 87" Award winner in the area of "Education and Civic <br /> Responsibility," and <br /> WHEREAS, Mrs. Hawthorne has served the Lakewood School <br /> system for 23 years in various capacities ranging from President of <br /> the PTA Council to guidance volunteer and has given so liberally of <br /> her time, talents and energies through her volunteer service with the <br /> Lakewood Schools, Girl Scouts of America, and the YMCA reflecting her <br /> dedication to working with organizations that promote responsible <br /> citizenship in the leaders of tommorrow, and <br /> WHEREAS, Mrs. Hawthorne automatically becomes a finalist at <br /> the State level and will be vying for the State of Ohio Spirit of 87 <br /> Award to be determined at the State Fair in Columbus, Ohio, and <br /> WHEREAS, this Council wishes to join with her many friends <br /> and acquaintences in congratulating Jane S. Hawthorne on being <br /> selected as the recipient of Lakewood's "Spirit of 87" Award in the <br /> category of "Education and Civic Responsibility"; now, therefore <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br /> OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That this Council extends to Jane S. Hawthorne <br /> its heartiest congratulations and that of all of the citizens of this <br /> community, on being the recipient of Lakewood's "Spirit of 87" Award <br /> in the category of "Education and Civil Responsibility" and wishes her <br /> good luck and success as a finalist in the finals in Columbus, Ohio. <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby <br /> authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution <br /> to Jane S.
