<br /> RESOLUTION NO.: 6173^87 BY: Browns Chinnocks Gallaghers Grahams <br /> McBride, Salmons Wendling <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Director of Public Works <br /> to enter into a contract for the purchase of approximately ten <br /> thousand gallons of Calcium Chloride for a period of one, two or three <br /> years commencing October, 1987 with the lowest and best bidder after <br /> advertisement according to law. <br /> WHEREAS, in order that the rock salt will work more effectively <br /> during periods of extremely cold temperatures, it is necessary to <br /> purchase Calcium Chloride, and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing <br /> for the immediate preservation of the publio health, safety and <br /> welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, <br /> now, therefore: <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby <br /> authorizes' and directed to enter into a contract for the purchase of <br /> approximately ten thousand gallons of Calcium Chloride for the period <br /> of one, two or three years commencing October 1, 1987 with the lowest <br /> and best bidder after advertising according to law. <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br /> this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution <br /> were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such <br /> deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that <br /> resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, <br /> in compliance with all legal rec,uirements. <br /> Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br /> emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br /> provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br /> elected to Council, it shall take effect and be it fo e ediately <br /> upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> ADCPTE O <br /> r i n <br /> APPROVED: oCJ 7~7 -~~,~'j~K.. <br /> a or <br /> <br />
