RESOLUTION NO.: 6209-87 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br /> Graham, McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> A RESOLUTION extending congratulations to the St. James Fifth and <br /> Sixth Grade Warriors Football Team for its outstanding athletic achievement <br /> <br /> during the 1987 Football Season. <br /> WHEREAS, on Sunday, November 1st, the St. James Fifth and Sixth <br /> Grade Warriors Football Team valiantly defeated their final competitor to win <br /> the West Suburban 1987 Championship Title at Impett Park, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Warriors exhibited great skill and sportsmanship in <br /> their undefeated season in the West Suburban Football League, culminating in <br /> a season record of 8 and 0, and giving them the best Junior Varsity football <br /> record in the St. James School history, and <br /> WHEREAS, the coaches of this championship team have given <br /> selflessly of their time and energy to guide and cheer this team to victory, <br /> WHEREAS, on Sunday, November 8th, St. James culminated their season <br /> with a victory over St. Joseph and John in the annual Rosary Bowl at the new <br /> Lakewood High School football field, and <br /> WHEREAS, by their outstanding athletic accomplishments and good <br /> sportsmanship, together with the expert guidance of their dedicated coaches, <br /> the St. James Warriors Football Team has brought position, recognition and <br /> honor not only to themselves, but to our entire community; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That this Council extends to the St. James Warriors <br /> Football Team its congratulations, and that of all of the citizens of the <br /> Lakewood community, for its outstanding athletic achievements during the 1987 <br /> West Suburban League season. <br /> Section 2.
