~J nv <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 6221-88 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Wendling <br /> Gallagher, Gazzana, George, Graham <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Thomas 0. McBride for his public <br /> service as a Councilman of the City of Lakewood. <br /> WHEREAS, Thomas 0. McBride was elected to the office of <br /> <br /> Councilman of Ward 1 in the City of Lakewood for the term commencing <br /> <br /> January 1, 1972, and served continuously in that capacity until <br /> <br /> December 31, 1987, Mr. McBride having chosen not to seek xe-election <br /> to that office fox the term beginning January 1, 1988, and <br /> WHEREAS, Mx. McBride most ably and with distinction served <br /> this Council and the community as President of Council for two <br /> successive terms for the years 198 through 1983, in addition to <br /> having served as Chairman of all but three of the standing committees <br /> of Council, and <br /> WHEREAS, during his sixteen years tenure as a Councilman, <br /> Mr. McBride was recognized as a conscientious, effective, and <br /> respected legislator, working deligently and extensively for the <br /> promotion, progress and betterment of the City of Lakewood and all of <br /> its residents, particularly in the field of consumer protection, and <br /> WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the outstanding <br /> public service rendered by Thomas 0. McBride as a Lakewood Councilman <br /> be given public cognizance and recognition; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br /> OE OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That this Council extends to Thomas 0. McBride <br /> its appreciation and that of all of the citizens of this community fox <br /> his sixteen years of distinguished public service as Councilman of <br /> Ward 1 of the City of Lakewood, and further that this Council wishes <br /> him continued years of health, happiness and prosperity in his <br /> retirement. <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby <br /> authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution <br /> to Mr. Thomas 0.
