RESOLUTION N0. 6251-88 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gazzana, George, Graham, Wendling A RESOLUTION extending sincere appreciation to Rego's Supermarkets for its generous gift for the benefit of the elderly citizens of the City of Lakewood. WHEREAS, Rego's Supermarkets has monitarily supported the grocery shopping assistance program of the Department of Aging since 1984, and WHEREAS, on a bi-monthly basis 232 older people were able to participate in this most worthwhile, much needed program in 1987, and WHEREAS, in response to the Department's continued need for financial assistance, Rego's Supermarkets has once more graciously donated to the Lakewood Commission on Aging, Inc. the sum of $7,208 to pay the salary of a part-time van driver for the 1988 program, and WHEREAS, this Council wishes to again express to Rego's Supermarkets its sincere appreciation for its generous gift and to thank the company for its continued expression of concern for the welfare of the elderly citizens of the City; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this Council extends to Rego's Supermarkets its sincere appreciation and thanks, and that of all of the citizens of this community for its most generous gift to the Lakewood Commission on Aging, Inc. to be used by the Lakewood Office on Aging to provide the salary of a van driver for a period of one year for its grocery shopping assistance program. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Anthony Rego, President of Rego's Supermarkets, Inc., 4529 Industrial Parkway, Cleveland, Ohio, 44135, and that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting.
