RESOLUTION NO. 6353-89 BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, Gazzana, George, Graham, Wendling A RESOLUTION designating the week of March 24 - 31, Community Development Week in the City of Lakewood. 1989 as WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant Program has enabled the City of Lakewood to implement numerous programs to assist low and moderate income residents and to eliminate or prevent the occurrence of slums and blight in the City of Lakewood, and WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant Program has affected a renaissance in both the residential and commercial areas of Lakewood through the Storefront Renovation, Free Paint, and Low Interest Loan Programs, and WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant Program has enabled numerous social and other services to be provided to the needy such as day care, emergency food supplies, and programs to assist the elderly, youth, handicapped, and WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant Program has enabled the city to reconstruct streets, curbs, parks, water and sewer lines in the City of Lakewood, and WHEREAS, the U. S. Conference of Mayors has designated the week of March 24 - 31, 1989 as National Community Development Week, OF OHIO: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE Section 1. The City of Lakewood hereby designates the week of March 24 - 31, 1989 as Community Development Week in Lakewood. Section 2. It is found and determined that all such formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. Section 3. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to all local media. / ' President Clerk
