RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />6359-89 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gal lagher, <br /> Gazzana, George, Wen~tl ing <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Public Works Director to <br />advertise for bids and to enter into a contract with the lowest and <br />best bidder after advertisement according to law for the installation <br />of a new water main in Lakewood Park. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS,~ Council has determined that the water main in Lakewood <br />Park is badly deteriorated and in urgent need of replacement, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Council has authorized the preparation of construction <br />drawings and specifications by the Lakewood Engineering Department, <br />and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the aforementioned construction drawings and specifica- <br />tions are now on file in the City Engineer's office, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure provid- <br />ing for the usual daily operation of a municipal department and for <br />the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare; now <br />therefore, <br /> <br />~BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Public Works Director be and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to advertise for bids and to enter into a <br />contract with the lowest and best bidder after advertisement according <br />to law for the installation of a new water main in Lakewood Park. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the cost of such construction is estimated at' <br />$45,000.00, which funds are to be made available from the Water Fund. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Resolution <br />were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such <br />deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that <br />resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, <br />in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected tc Council, it shall take effect and be in fcrce immediately <br />upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise it shall take <br />effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approved :~C~ ~.l ~, <br /> <br /> <br />
