RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />6391-89 <br /> <br /> BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher <br />Gazzana, George, Graham, Wendling <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION declaring the intent of the City of Lakewood and <br />Lakewood City Council to salute the Work of the North Coast Health Ministry <br />and to support its fund-raising drive. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the North Coast Health Ministry launches its "$20,000 <br />"HELP US HELP" fundraising campaign on Monday, July 17, 1989, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the North Coast Health Ministry, founded in 1986, by <br />members of four Bay Village churches--St. Barnabas Episcopal, Bay <br />Presbyterian, Bay United Methodist and St. Raphael Roman Catholic-- is a <br />Christian organization which provides quality health care services to those <br />people in the suburbs of Western Cuyahoga County who have a demonstrated need <br />by virtue of their income level and absence of public medical assistance or <br />private medical insurance, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this mission is fulfilled by offering the medical services <br />of diagnosis, treatment and referral; by cooperating with existing social <br />service and health care agencies,and by seeking out additional opportunities <br />to serve those persons in need, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, over 160 volunteer health care professionals, an <br />administrative staff, and a Board of Directors provide assistance to those in <br />need, and the Ministry's services are offered to all qualifying individuals <br />residing in the geographic area, regardless of age, sex, race or religious <br />affiliation, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, to meet current and projected future needs' and to insure <br />expansion of service and continuity of care, with the goal of serving 1,000 <br />patients in 1989, it is necessary to increase funding; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council extends its heartiest commendation to <br />North Coast Health Ministry for its vital work in Lakewood and other <br />communities, and encourages the residents of Lakewood who can do so to assist <br />North Coast Health Ministry in its current fundraising campaign. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be, and she is hereby <br />authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to <br />North Coast Health Ministry, 15644 Madison Avenue, Suite 204, Lakewood, Ohio <br />44107, and that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this <br />meeting. <br /> <br />LERK ' <br /> <br /> <br />
