RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />6394-89 <br /> <br /> BY: CHINNOCK, Brown, <br />Gallagher, George, Graham, Wendling <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to enact an official City policy mandating the <br />purchase of competitively-priced recycled paper. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City uses approximately 41 tons of paper <br />annually, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the use of large quantities of paper has a direct <br />impact upon our environment by the use of our natural resources, <br />and · <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City should take a leadership role in using <br />recycled paper in order to preserve our natural resources and to <br />lessen the impact upon our environment; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Council of the City of Lakewood <br />establishes as an official City policy that the City purchase <br />only recycled paper for its needs where such paper is competi- <br />tively-priced in that it does not exceed the cost of non- <br />recycled paper by more than ten per cent (10%)', and that the <br />City Administration carry out this mandatory policy where such <br />paper product is compatible with City equipment. <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage <br />of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this <br />Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of <br />any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were <br />in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal <br />requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized <br />and directed to forward certified copy of this resolution to <br />Mayor Anthony C. Sinagra. <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br /> <br />
