RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />6411-89 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br />Gazzana, George, Graham, Wendling <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION expressing the sympathy of the Council of <br />the City of Lakewood to the family of the late Howard Ferguson. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has learned With deep regret of <br />the untimely passing on Sunday, October 8, 1989, of Howard <br />Ferguson, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Coach Ferguson, who during his fifteen years of <br />dedication to the St. Edward High School's Eagles in Lakewood, <br />guided the wrestling team to eleven state wrestling championships, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, under the direction of Howard Ferguson, the St. <br />Edward Eagles Wrestling community, by winning eleven state titles <br />in twelve years, set an Ohio ~ecord not likely to be broken, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Coach Ferguson's legacy in Ohio sports history <br />and success has brought due recognition and honor to LakewOod and <br />the entire northeast Ohio community, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Lakewood City Council and the Mayor wish to <br />honor the memory of Howard Ferguson in appropriate fashion and <br />extend condolences to his family; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COLINCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Lakewood City Council and the Mayor <br />honor the memory of the late Howard Ferguson, and extend their <br />deepest sympathies to his wife and their daughters on the loss of <br />their beloved husband and father. <br /> <br /> Section 2.
