RESOLUTION ~O~ <br /> <br />6439-89 <br /> <br /> Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br />Gazzana, George, Graham, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor on <br />behalf of the City of Lakewood to accept a $45,300 grant to the City <br />of Lakewood from the Ohio Department o~ Natural Resources, Division of <br />Litter Prevention and Recycling and to administer and budget litter <br />prevention grant funds. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, litter is unsightly, unsanitary and creates blighting <br />conditions, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood's City Council recognizes the <br />existence of litter and the need to promote, educate, and abate litter <br />within the City, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure provid- <br />ing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare and to comply with grant implementation. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, be <br />and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement <br />with and to budget and administer all grants received from the Ohio <br />Department of Natural Resources, Office of Litter Prevention and <br />Recycling allocated from the Litter Control Act of 1980. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br /> this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution <br /> were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such <br /> deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted <br /> in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in <br /> compliance with all legal requirements including Section 121.22 of the <br /> Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br /> emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br /> provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br /> elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br /> upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br /> President <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
