RESOLUTION NO. 640~-~90 By:Boscia, Gallagher, Gazzana, George,' Graham, Roth, Smith A RESOLUTION congratulating Lakewood resident and Lakewood School Superintendent, Dr. Daniel Kalish for being named one of the 100 "best and brightest" school officials by Executive Educator magazine, a publication of the Nations School Board Association. WHEREAS, selections for this award are given annually to recognize outstanding executive ability on the part of school officials, and WHEREAS, Dr. Kalish, superintendent of Lakewood Schools since 1984, was selected for this award because he has demonstrated strong leadership and outstanding skill in overseeing numerous educational projects, and Whereas, among these projects are; an at-risk and gifted student program, a cooperative labor management model, a computer consortium, a major building project, a schools-community finance coalition, and a competency-based education program, and WHEREAS, the energy and Kalish has earned him the respect colleagues alike, and innovation displayed by Dr. and affection of friends and WHEREAS, through his dedication, leadership, and professionalism Dr. Daniel Kalish has brought recognition to himself, the Lakewood School System, as well as the community of the City of Lakewood; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the Council of the City of Lakewood extends to Dr. Daniel Kalish its heartiest congratulations and that of all of the citizens of this community on being named one of the 100 "best and brightest" school officials in the country. Adopted: Section 2.
