RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />6476-90 <br /> <br />BY: Boscia, Gallagher, Gazzana, <br />George, Graham, Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Lakewood resident Henry Oliver <br />Dunkle for his more than 30 years of inimitable charity in the <br />fellowship of Veterans of Foreign Wars of Ohio and especially as <br />7th District Commander. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Henry Dunkle began his long career of donating <br />his energies for the good of others in the United States Marine <br />Corps during World War II, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during his service in the Marine Corps the <br />outstanding determination, persistence and willingness to give of <br />himself earned him the rank of sergeant, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this sense of readiness to be there for his <br />fellow man was called upon again during the Korean War, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Henry Dunkle continues to this day to be <br />hailed by his friends and family as a loyal and dedicated man who <br />renders outstanding and unselfish service, not only to the <br />Veterans of Foreign Wars as a fellowship but to the entire <br />community as well, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the ever present attitude of willingness to be <br />there for others shown by Henry Oliver Dunkle is evident through <br />the donation of his time in visiting hospitals, the giving of his <br />energies in providing flags for schools, the gestures of caring he <br />extends to other veterans, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the personal <br />sacrifices in time, money, and energy made by Mr. Henry Oliver <br />Dunkle be given public cognizance and recognition; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council extends to Mr. Henry Oliver <br />Dunkle its commendation and appreciation and that of all the <br />citizens of this community for his years of devoted service in the <br />Veterans of Foreign Wars, as a District 7 Commander and for <br />service to the community as a whole and further that this Council <br />wishes him continued years of health, and prosperity in his <br />pursuit of happiness. <br /> <br />Section 2.
