RESOLUTION NO. 6540-90 BY: Boscia, Gallagher, Gazzana, <br /> George, Graham, Roth, Smith <br /> A RESOLUTION commending and congratulating the Lakewood <br />Citizens For Recycling Committee for tWo years of dedicated and <br />innovative service to this community which has been instumental <br />in the establishment of the City's voluntary curbside recycling <br />program. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, prior to the December 19, 1988 council meeting <br />at which Councilman Edward Graham proposed that the City begin a <br />voluntary recycling program a small group a citizens banded <br />together to form a citizens committee to assist in establishing <br />such a program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, since that time there have been more than a <br />Hundred citizens who participated in that committee; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this outstanding group, after two years of <br />dedicated service to this community, continues to meet Lakewood's <br />challange of dealing solid waste disposal through voluntary <br />recycling; now therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor, for and <br />on behalf of residents of the City of Lakewood hereby express to <br />this most deserving community organization and each of its <br />members our sincere congratulations and appreciation for a job <br />well done and continuing to be done. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Lakewood Citizens for Recycling <br />Committee is not only applauded for meritorious past service, but <br />is vigorously encouraged to continue with the same dedication and <br />zeal to help not only this city with the new concepts of public <br />recycling, but the many others who have had the benefit of <br />learning from the Committee's pioneering efforts. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That the Clerk of Council be and she is <br />hereby authorized and directed to forward <br />resolutiOn to the Lakewood Citizens <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />a coD~-~this <br /> <br /> Ma j - '- ;' <br /> <br /> <br />
