6540-90 Commend Citizens for Recycling Committee

RESOLUTION NO. 6540-90 BY: Boscia, Gallagher, Gazzana, George, Graham, Roth, Smith A RESOLUTION commending and congratulating the Lakewood Citizens For Recycling Committee for tWo years of dedicated and innovative service to this community which has been instumental in the establishment of the City's voluntary curbside recycling program. WHEREAS, prior to the December 19, 1988 council meeting at which Councilman Edward Graham proposed that the City begin a voluntary recycling program a small group a citizens banded together to form a citizens committee to assist in establishing such a program; and WHEREAS, since that time there have been more than a Hundred citizens who participated in that committee; and WHEREAS, this outstanding group, after two years of dedicated service to this community, continues to meet Lakewood's challange of dealing solid waste disposal through voluntary recycling; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor, for and on behalf of residents of the City of Lakewood hereby express to this most deserving community organization and each of its members our sincere congratulations and appreciation for a job well done and continuing to be done. Section 2. That the Lakewood Citizens for Recycling Committee is not only applauded for meritorious past service, but is vigorously encouraged to continue with the same dedication and zeal to help not only this city with the new concepts of public recycling, but the many others who have had the benefit of learning from the Committee's pioneering efforts.
