RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />6541-90 BY: Boscia, Gallagher, Gazzana, <br /> George, Graham, ROth, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing thc Mayor, for and on behalf of thc City <br />of Lakewood, to accept as a gift to thc City of Lakcwood a 1987 Buick station wagon from <br />Fairchild Chevrolet and the Chevy Network to be used in the Office on Aging's Escort Progra__m_. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Fairchild Chevrolet and the Chevy Network offered the City of Lakewood <br />thc opportunity to submit proposals for their Community Action Fund; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Fairchild Chevrolet and the Chevy Network have expressed their concern <br />for our seniors by funding a vehiclc to be used by the Office on Aging Escort Service; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Escort Service provides access to health care facilities and medical <br />appointments thus increasing thc quality of life for all Older residents unable to use conventional <br />transportation. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEW~D, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized for and on behaJf of the City <br />of Lakewood to accept a 1987 Buick station wagon from Fairchild Chevrolet and the Chevy <br />Network. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Mayor and Council extend to Fairchild Chevrolet and the Chevy <br />Network their sincere appreciation and thanks along with that of all thc citizens of this communi- <br />ty for their most gracious gift to be used for the benefit of our community. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this resolu'tion is h'ereby declared to be an emergency measure for the <br />reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affumative vote of two-thirds <br />of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force jammd~ely upon its <br />adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect..a~ xbe in loire after the <br />earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Approved: ~ ~ / ~, / <br /> .yor <br /> <br /> <br />
