RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />6564-91 <br /> <br /> BY: Boscia, Gallagher, <br />Gazzana, George, Graham, <br /> Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Mr. Brian King for his public <br />service as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Community <br />Development Corporation of the City of Lakewood; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Brian King was appointed by Mayor William <br />Blackie as one of the original five trustees in May 1977; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Brian King served one partial term and two <br />full terms, serving as the Board chairman from 1982-1989; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in 1988, Brian was instrumental in <br />establishing a rental restoration program to address problems <br />unique to Lakewood's rental housing stock; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as one of the 'original five', Brian worked <br />successfully with the administration and the public in <br />establishing the low interest loan programs which encouraged and <br />assisted homeowners to improve and maintain their properties, <br />thus upgrading the city's total housing stock and thereby <br />preserving the city's residential neighborhoods; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, many hundreds of hours of time and energy were <br />donated by this civic minded individual, the efforts of whom can <br />be seen while travelling down almost any Lakewood street and <br />because of his hard work, the City of Lakewood is a better place <br />to live and raise families; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor, extend to <br />Brian King its appreciation and that of all the citizens of this <br />community for his service on the Board of Trustees of the <br />Community Development Corporation. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is <br />hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of <br />this Resolution to Mr. Brian King, 1548 Rockland, Rocky River, OH <br />44116, and that a copy of this Resoluti~cu%i~e~ spread upon the <br />minutes of the meeting <br /> <br /> MAYOR <br /> <br /> <br />
