RESOLUTION NO. <br />Spaetzel. <br /> <br /> George, Graham, Roth, Smith <br /> 6614-91 BY: Boscia, Gallagher, Gazzana, <br />RESOLUTION commending Lakewood Patrol'Officer Steven <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, since the Fall of 1990, Officer Steven <br />Spaetzel has worked with the children of our community in <br />conjunction with' D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance EdUcation) a <br />nationally recognized drug prevention program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Officer Spaetzel received extensive training <br />prior to implementing this program in the Lakewood schools; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this officer <br />interaction with all children in <br />and private Lakewood schools; and <br /> <br />taught D.A.R.E. curriculum and <br />the weekly program at 15 public <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as a direct result of Officer Spaetzel's <br />dedication and commitment to this program, there are presently <br />over 860 D.A.R.E. graduates who are now better equipped to resist <br />peer pressure in choosing healthy alternatives to drug use; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by his friendly, genial and outgoing nature, <br />this Officer has developed a wonderful rapport with our school <br />children, earning their trust, respect and high regard, thereby <br />providing a positive role model; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, through his work with the D.A.R.E. program, <br />Officer Spaetzel has served as a bridge between children, parents, <br />educators, and school administrators to the Lakewood Police <br />Department creating a positive attitude toward law enforcement and <br />our local Police force; now <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor, hereby extend to <br />Lakewood Patrol Officer Steven Spaetzel its commendation, and that <br />of all the citizens of the Lakewood Community, for his commitment <br />and dedication to the D.A.R.E. program. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby <br />authorized and directed to forward certified copies of this <br />Resolution to Patrol Officer Steven Spaetzel, in care of Lakewood <br />Police Department, 12650 Detroit Avenue, Lak~w~~h4~'o 44107, <br />and that a copy of this Resolutio] <br /> of <br />the meeting. <br /> <br />Adopted: ~ ~ Iq~/ <br /> <br />Approved: j~t. ~/3 /~ ~/ <br /> <br />· Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
