RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />§~01-92 <br /> <br />BY:Boscia, Gallagher, George, <br />Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor <br />for and on behalf of the City of Lakewood to engage the <br />professional services of and enter into a contract with <br /> Weber Architecture for a sum not to exceed <br /> One hundred a~d twenty .~housand~idoilars ~120,000.00 ) Dollars <br />to act as the City's architect and provide all architectural <br />.services for the design and construction of a new Fire Station <br />Number 1 and Fire Department Headquarters. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is in the process of relocating <br />the Fire station Number 1 and Fire Department Headquarters in <br />conjunctiOn with the Lakewood City Center; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an architect to represent the City and a contract <br />for professional services are necessary for the design and <br />construction of a new Fire Station and Headquarters; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary to enter into a professional <br />contract with an architect at the earliest possible date in order <br />to proceed with the relocation of Fire Station Number 1 and Fire <br />Department Headquarters on schedule and topermit the timely <br />completion of the Lakewood City Center Project without <br />interruption of fire protection for the City, wherefore this <br />resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for the <br />immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, <br />and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, now <br />therefore <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and <br />directed to enter into a contract for professional services with <br /> Weber Architecture in an amount not <br />to exceed One hundred and twenty thmn~nnd dall~r~ ($120,000.) <br />Dollars to act as this City's architect and provide all <br />architectural services for the design and construction of a new <br />Fire Station Number 1 and Fire Department Headquarters. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The Finance Director is authorized to expend the <br />necessary funds in accordance with the professional service <br />contract authorized by this resolution. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That the professional service contract entered <br />into shall be substantially consistent with the proposal submitted <br />by said architect and the final contract in a form acceptable to <br />the Director of Law. <br /> <br /> Section 4.. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of <br />this resolution was adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its <br />committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings <br />open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 5.
