RESOLUTION NO: 6715-92 BY: <br /> <br />Boscia, Gallagher, George, <br />Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br />Condons honored by Lakewood Officials <br /> <br />Tan~m, ~. A RESOLUTION extending congratulations to Mr. and <br />Mrs. George Edward Condon on the celebration of their Fiftieth <br />Wedding Anniversary. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the sub-head of this Formal Resolution shall <br />read: DASHING OSU NEWSPAPER EDITOR SPARKS INTEREST OF BEAUTIFUL <br />JOURNALISM MAJOR, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the lead of this story of Mr. and Mrs. Condon <br />begins at Ohio State University where mutual pursuits in journalism <br />and each other led to their marriage May 9, 1942 in Springfield, <br />Ohio at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during their years together Mr. Condon enjoyed <br />a journalistic career at the Plain Dealer and Sun Newspapers, <br />authored the books; Cleveland, the Best Kept Secret, Stars in the <br />Waters, Cleveland: Prodigy of the Western Reserve, and several <br />others as Mrs. Condon chose a career as an educator in the <br />Cleveland Public Schools, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the two share their love and talents with their <br />four daughters, (Theresa, Katherine, Mary and Susan), <br />daughter-in-law (Heidi), two sons, (John and George E. Jr.), three <br />sons-in-law, (George Holland, Peter Edward Brereton and Brian <br />Love), and two grandchildren, (Peter George and Patrick Condon <br />Brereton), and <br /> -more- <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council and Mayor wish to join with family <br />and friends in congratulating this dedicated couple on this <br />noteworthy occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniversary; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor, extend to <br />Mr. and Mrs. George Edward Condon their congratulations on the <br />momentous occasion of their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary and wish <br />them continued years of health, happiness and harmony. <br /> <br /> Section 2.
