RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />6752-92 <br /> <br /> By: Boscia, Gallagher, <br />Gegrge, Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION declaring the month of September 1992 as <br />"WOMEN'S HEALTH MONTH" in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Women's. health is an issue of great concern in <br />society, and disease prevention and health promotion have become a <br />community as well as a personal responsibility; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, women comprise 53% of the population of Lakewood <br />and head up over 12% of the single parent households in our city; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, one half of Lakewood's work force' is female; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, maintaining' optimum health of women is critical to the <br />continued viability of the city because of their multiple responsibilties to <br />family, the city's work force, and society as a whole; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the health status and quality of life of women can be <br />enhanced by prevention and early detection efforts; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council and the Mayor of the City of Lakewood <br />give due recognition and cognizance to the health of each and every woman in <br />this community; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor do hereby establish <br />the month of September as "Women's Health Month" throughout the City and <br />encourage continued and expanded sensitivity ~to the health and emotional <br />needs of women and further encourage women to take action to protect and <br />enhance their health. <br /> <br /> Section 2.
