RESOU3I~ON NO. <br /> <br />6825-93 BY: Boscia, Gallagher, <br /> George, Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESO~ION to ~d Lakewood Lutheran School's "Warriors" <br />seventh and eighth grade girls basketball team for their exceptional <br />1992-1993 season; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Lakewood Lutheran's basketball team has recently com- <br />pleted an outstanding season cc~piling an overall "20-2" won/loss record, <br />one of the best records ever achieved in the school's history; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the 'Warriors" succeeded in going undefeated in the <br />Greater Cleveland Lutheran Elementary School League, posting a "13-0" <br />won/loss record; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, additionally, the 'Warriors" fine performance allowed <br />th~m to win the mid-season Lutheran West Girls Elementary Basketball Tourna- <br />ment and the Lakewood Lutheran School Invitational Tournament; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the '5~arriors" undefeated and first place finish allowed <br />for their selection to the All-Ohio Lutheran Tournament in which they fJ_nished <br />as State Runners-up, and the Lutheran National Championship at Valparaiso <br />University in which they finished as National Consolation Champions! and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, players Rachel Arkley, Mary Clarke, Anna Collins, Mahdi <br />Dotson, Al;ssa Gray, Jessica Risner, Rachel Sandmann, Amanda Seagro and Evonne <br />Smith should be recognized for their individual efforts, good sportsmanship <br />and be proud of their many achievements; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Coach Tom O'Hara, Athletic Director Dale Lehrke and <br />Principal Larry Hoffschneider should be recognized for their leadership and <br />individual contributions helping to insure success, not only to Lakew~od <br /> <br />should be recognized in a proper and fitting manner; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council, the Mayor, and all the citizens <br />of the Lakew~od Co~..~,~r~ity, hereby ~ to Lakew~od Lutheran School's <br />seventh and eighth grade girls basketball team its congratulations for <br />their outstanding athletic achievement during the 1992-1993 grade school <br />basketball season. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of~C0uncil ~ is hereby <br />authorized and directed to forward a certified ~9~fof ~is ~es01ution to <br />Lakewood Lutheran School, 1419 Lakeland ~~$ OH 441.07, and that <br />a copy of this Resolution be spread upo~meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
