RESOLUTION NO. 6842-93 <br /> <br /> BY: BoScia, George, <br />Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION recommending that the City enter into a change <br />order in its contract with Terrace Construction Co. in the amount of <br />$485,000 for the completion of the 1992 sewer project on Lakeland, <br />Westwood, Rosewood, Orchard Grove and Park Place streets. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 29-92, sealed bids were <br />received by the City of Lakewood for the 1992 sewer project on Lake- <br />land, Westwood, Rosewood, Orchard Grove and Park Place streets, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a contract was entered into with Terrace Construc- <br />tion Co. in the amount of $2,660,407, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the course of the project, the City Engineer <br />determined that extensive repair and replacement of curbs was indi- <br />cated and that additional funds have been appropriated in the amount <br />of $485,000, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the contract with Terrace Construction Co. pro- <br />vides a unit price for curb replacement which the Procurement Officer <br />has determined to be competitive and as good or better than the price <br />estimated if curb repair and replacement were separately bid in 1993, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Control approved the Procurement <br />Officer's recommendation of a change order in the Terrace <br />Construction co. contract in the amount of $485,000 to complete the <br />curb work; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Council approves the actions of the Board <br />of Control and recommends that the Director of Public Works enter <br />into a change order in the City's contract with Terrace Construction <br />Co.'in the amount of $485,000 for the curb replacement and repair in <br />the 1992 sewer project on Lakeland, Westwood, Rosewood, Orchard Grove <br />and Park Place streets. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of <br />this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and <br />that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its commit- <br />tees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the <br />public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />Adopted: ~ /~,! <br /> <br />Approved.'~~/~] /~ ~ ~ <br /> <br />CLERK <br /> <br /> <br />
