RESOLUTION NO.: 6891-95 <br /> <br /> BY: Boscia, Gallagher, <br />George, Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION declaring November 28 through December 4, <br />1993 to be "Home Care Week" in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Lakewood Citizens of all ages and economic <br />levels are concerned about high-quality, affordable, long-term <br />health care, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, home care provides, a wide range of needed <br />health and supportive services to the ill, elderly, disabled, and <br />infirm in their own homes, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by allowing disabled and chronically ill <br />citizens of all ages to remain with their loved ones in' <br />surroundings that are familiar and comfortable, home care helps <br />preserve one of the country's most important social values, <br />keeping families together, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a significant and growing body of evidence <br />documents that home care services are more efficient, cost <br />effective, and stimulate quicker and~ fuller recoveries and <br />improvements than comparable services within institutions, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Lakewood Hospital's Home Care Department <br />assisted close to 500 patients achieve recuperation, <br />rehabilitation, and/or recovery of independent function in 1992, <br />with a higher patient population forecast for 1993, now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor hereby <br />declare the week of November 28 to December 4 to be "Home Care <br />Week" in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br />Approved..~ ~,~ J~,/ff3 <br /> <br /> ~Section 2.
