RESOLUTION NO.-6932-94 <br /> <br />BY: Boscia, Flannery, George, <br />Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor to <br />file an application and enter into an agreement with the Ohio <br />Department of Transportation for the purpose of acquiring funds <br />through the Office of Planning and Environmental Services, for <br />the Transportation Enhancement Program. <br /> <br /> WqtEREAS, the Intermodal Surface Transportation <br />Efficiency Act of 1991 established funding for local <br />Transportation Enhancement Activities, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood proposes to apply for <br />grant funds for the west end gateway improvement and Clifton <br />Boulevard tree plantings to enhance highway beautification and <br />scenic enjoyment, pursuant to the Act, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with the Act, an application for <br />funds has been prepared which contains a description of. <br />activities to be undertaken, a budget, and an implementation <br />schedule; now,. therefore, -- <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVEDBY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized and <br />directed to file an application for $48,000.00 and if awarded to <br />complete all docUmentation as deemed by the Law Director to be in <br />the public interest with the Ohio Department of Transportation, <br />for receiving these funds. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the City of Lakewood hereby requests <br />that the Ohio Department of Transportation, Office of Planning <br />and Environmental Services, consider its application to fund the <br />project. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of the Council concerning and relating to the passage of <br />this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its <br />co,m.ittees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings <br />open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this Resolution shall take effect and <br />be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by. the <br />Mayor and at the earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted:~ <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br />CLERK <br /> <br /> <br />
