RESOLUTION NO. 6953-94 BY: Boscia, Flannery, George, Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith A Resolution supporting Issue 1 and declaring Tuesday, April 26 as "Health and Human Services Day". WHEREAS, the residents of Cuyahoga County are asked to renew a 3.0 mill Health and Human Services levy on the May 3 (Primary) ballot, and WHEREAS, this le,zy renewal (Issue 1) provides much needed services to at. least 25 percent of all Cuyahoga County residents, both urban and suburban, including many people in the City of Lakewood, and WHEREAS, Issue 1 is not a tax increase; the cost remains the same, $1.50 a week for the owner of an average priced home in Cuyahoga County, and WHEREAS, the primary recipients of services provided by Issue 1 are children, families, and elderly persons; and WHEREAS, services like the Metro Health Burn Unit and Flight can prevent tragedies and save lives, and WHEREAS, passage of Issue 1 will maintain a critical safety net for the citizens of Lakewood and all of Cuyahoga County; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THECITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor hereby endorse Issue 1, and urge the residents of this community to vote for Issue 1 on May 3, Primary Election Day and further resolve that T~aesday, April 26, 1994, is hereby declared "Health and H~.~an Services Day" in the City of Lakewood. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Bev Burtzlaff, c/o the County Administration Building, 1219 Ontario Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44113, and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting.
