RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />7042-95 BY: Boscia, Flannery, George, <br /> Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend and congratulate Linda Sullivan, president of <br />the Lakewood Business and Professional Women's Club on being awarded first <br />place at the Ohio Business & Professional Women (BPW) Public Speaking <br />Competition. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to reach this level Ms. Sullivan had to win the regional <br />competition ,and is planned to represent Ohio at the national competition in July in <br />Tulsa, Oklahoma, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the National Federation of Business and. Professional Women <br />is the largest and most prestigious organization in the wodd for working women, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the BPW was founded in 1919 to promote full participation, <br />equity and economic self-sufficiency for America's working women, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Linda Sullivan's commitment to. her community is evident in <br />her service as a member of the Lakewood Emblem Club, a service organization <br />affiliated with the Elks Club, her service on the Board of the Kidney Foundation and <br />her life-long membership in the Methodist Church; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY Of LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor hereby extend to Linda Sullivan, <br />their commendation and congratulations together with that of all the citizens of <br />Lakewood for her first place award at the Ohio Business & Professional Women's <br />Public Speaking Competition. <br /> <br /> Section 2.
