RESOLUTION NO. 7095-95 <br /> <br />BY: <br /> <br />Boscia, Flannery, George, <br />Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION approving a collective bargaining agreement <br />with Matron/Dispatchers, Fraternal Order of Police/Ohio Labor Council, <br />establishing conditions of employment, working conditions and various <br />benefits for certain employees of the Department of Public Safety of <br />the City of Lakewood, and authorizing the Mayor to sign said agreement <br />on behalf of the City. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a prior collective bargaining agreement entered <br />into between the City of Lakewood and Matron/Dispatchers, Fraternal <br />Order of Police/Ohio Labor Council, terminated on February 29, 1995, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, discussions and negotiations have been continued <br />subsequently on behalf of the City with representatives of <br />Matron/Dispatchers, Fraternal Order of Police/Ohio Labor Council, with <br />respect to conditions of employment, Working conditions, and various <br />benefits for certain employees of the Department of Public Safety of <br />the City of Lakewood, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, agreement has been reached in the course of said <br />discussions and negotiations with respect to the conditions of <br />employment, working conditions and various benefits for certain <br />employees aforementioned, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council determines that it is in the best <br />interest of the City to approve said collective bargaining agreement <br />and authorize the Mayor to sign same on behalf of the City, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS., this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety <br />and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal <br />department for the reason that it is necessary to approve said <br />agreement at the earliest possible time to insure high morale in the <br />City's safety forces and to maintain lawful and orderly labor <br />management relations; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the collective bargaining agreement with <br />Matron/Dispatchers, Fraternal Order of Police/Ohio Labor Council, and <br />effective for the period of March 1, 1995 to February 28, 1998, an <br />original copy of which is on file in the Office of the Mayor of the <br />City of Lakewood and is made a part hereof as though written fully <br />herein, is hereby adopted, ratified and approved, and the Mayor is <br />hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City of <br />Lakewood to affix his signature thereto. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That all other ordinances or resolutions or <br /> parts of ordinances or resolutions which are inconsistent with the <br /> provisions of this Resolution and/or the collective bargaining <br /> agreement made a part hereof, are hereby repealed as of March 1, 1991, <br /> to the extent that they pertain to the employees in the bargaining <br /> unit covered by the collective bargaining agreement and are <br /> inconsistent with this Resolution, including the collective bargaining <br /> agreement referred to herein and made a part hereof. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal <br /> actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this <br /> Resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council and that <br /> all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that <br /> resulted in such formal action were in meetings held in compliance <br /> with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> <br />
