RESOLUTION NO. 7094-95 BY: Boscia, Flannery, Gibbons, <br /> Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION supporting Mayor Michael White in his <br />efforts to retain the NFL Cleveland Browns in the City of <br />Cleveland <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the NFL Cleveland Browns have had a <br />professional football team in the City of Cleveland, Ohio for <br />over fifty years; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cleveland Browns have recently announced <br />their decision to leave the City of Cleveland; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the continued presence of the Cleveland Browns <br />would be a significant asset to the City of Cleveland and its <br />surrounding communities, including the City of Lakewood, Ohio; <br />and <br /> WHEREAS, Mayor Michael White, Mayor of the City of <br />Cleveland, has invested considerable efforts to assure the <br />Cleveland Browns remain in the City of Cleveland, Ohio and by <br />now with equally considerable impact; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood wishes to join Mayor <br />Michael White in support of his efforts to retain the Cleveland <br />Browns in the City of Cleveland; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Council and the Mayor of the City of <br />Lakewood hereby support Mayor Michael White in his <br />efforts to retain the NFL Cleveland Browns in the City <br />of Cleveland, Ohio. <br /> <br />Section 2. The Council and the Mayor of the City of <br />Lakewood urge all citizens and businesses in Cuyahoga <br />County to support Mayor Michael White's efforts to <br />retain the Cleveland Browns. <br /> <br />Section 3. A copy of this Resolution be forwarded to <br />Mayor Michael White, Mayor of the City of Cleveland, <br />Ohio, Fax 664-3570. <br /> <br />Section 4. It is hereby found and determined that all <br />formal actions of this Council, concerning and relating <br />to the passage of this Resolution were adopted in an <br />open meeting of this Council, and that all <br />deliberations of this Council and any of its <br />committees, that resulted in such formal action were in <br />meetings open to the public in compliance with all <br />legal requirements. ~ <br /> <br /> Section 5.
