RESOLUTION NO. 7111- 96 <br /> <br />BY: Boscia, Corrigan, Flannery, <br /> George, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Michael E. Murman for Ms public service <br />as Law Director and Prosecutor for the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Murman, was employed by the City on December 10, <br />1979 and was appointed Law Director on January 1, 1991; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Michael Munnan received his Juris Doctorate degree (magna <br />cum laude) from Cleveland State University and is a member of the Cleveland, Cuyahoga <br />County, Ohio State and American Bar Associations and frequently serves as Relator's <br />counsel in professional discipline cases, is Vice Chairman of the Ohio State Bar <br />Association's Legal Ethics and Professional Conduct Committee and member ofthcir <br />Committee to Review Ohio's Disciplinary Process, and serves as a member of the <br />Cuyahoga County Bar Association's Certified Grievance Committee; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Murman is also active in several professional <br />organizations having served as President to the Cuyahoga County Law Directors <br />Association, President -Elect of the Ohio Municipal Attorneys Association, Chairman of <br />the Criminal Law Section for the Cleveland Bar Association, and as a member of the <br />Supreme Court of Ohio's task force as well as serving as an expert witness in legal <br />malpractice/professional ethics litigation and is a frequent presenter at seminars and <br />workshops on professional ethics; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during his tenure as Law Director, Michael Murman has been <br />recognized as a conscientious, effective and respected legal advisor of and attorney and <br />counsel for the City while attending the many regular, special and committee meetings of <br />the Lakewood City Council, and has served on Lakewood Historical Society's Board of <br />Trustees; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as Prosecutor, Mr. Murman was instrumental in the <br />.establishment of a Mediation Program to assist citizens in resolving disputes out of court <br />in a timely, cost efficient manner, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Michael Munnan has completed sixteen years of outstanding <br />public service to the City of Lakewood and such dedication to duty and years of public <br />service should be recognized in a proper and fitting manner, now therefore, <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Mayor and Council emends to Michael E. Murman its <br />appreciation and that of all of the citizens of this community for his sixteen years of <br />dedicated public service to the City of Lakewood and further that we wish him continued <br />years of health, happiness and prosperity in his new endeavors. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Michael E.
