RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />7115-96 BY:Boscia, Corrigan, Flannery, <br /> George, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION extending congratulations to Timothy Goebel for his <br />outstanding athletic and personal achievements. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Timothy Goebel, a member of the Winterhurst Figure <br />Skating Club and Freshman at Lakewood High School, is the 1996 U.S. Figure Skating <br />Association's National Championships Junior Men's Division Gold Medalist, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as one of only two representatives from the United States <br />Timothy placed seventh in the World Championships for Figure Skating held in Australia <br />in 1995, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, through his exceptional talent and determination, long hours <br />and hard work he has brought honor and recognition not only to the Winterhurst Figure <br />Skating Club and Lakewood High School but to our entire community; now, therefore, <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Mayor and Council extends to Timothy Goebel their <br />congratulations and that of all of the citizens of this community for his athletic <br />achievements in figure skating and winning the Gold Medal for the Junior Men's Division <br />in the U.S. Figure Skating Association's National Championships and placing seventh in <br />the World Junior Figure Skating Championship. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Timothy Goebel, and that a copy <br />of this Resolution be sp[ead upon the minutes of the meeting. <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br />Approved: J~ ~//q7~ <br /> <br />CLERK <br /> <br /> <br />
