RESOLUTION: 7142-96 BY: goscia, Corrigan, Flannery, George, Roth, Seelie, Smith A RESOLUTION honoring Kathleen M. Lawther for her 22 years of service to the City of Lakewood. WHEREAS, Kathleen M, Lawther has served as the Director of the Lakewood Department of Human Services which includes the Divisions of Aging, Health, Youth and Early Childhood, and WHEREAS, Kathteen M. Lawther was the'flrst woman director of any department in the history of the City. of Lakewood, an accomplishment she did not forget throughout her career remaining steadfast in her support and encouragement of other women aspiring to leadership positions, and WHEREAS, Katldeen's personal attributes of honesty, tenacity and enlightenment were applied to every job she-undertook, every person she came in contact with, and every obstacle she overcame, and WHEREAS, Katldeen Lawther poured her heart and soul-into initiating grants and programs, procedures and plans, activities and assistance in order to develop the Department on Aging where her g?nnine respect for the dignity of each human being was made. manifest, and WHEREAS, Kathleen Lawther leaves behind a municipal depa.lment that public officials across this country lOok to as. an example of excellence-inhuman services; now> therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That Kathleen M. Lawther be honored by a formal- Resolution in order to give public cognizance and recognition to a wonderful human being and to further thank her on behalf of those who embrace her lasting influence on their lives. Section 2. That the Clerk of Coancil be and is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Kathieen M. Lawther, and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the record. President Clerk
