RESOLUTION NO. 7151-96 BY: Boscia, Corrigan, Flannery, George, Roth, Seelie, Smith A RESOLUTION recognizing the efforts of our Lakewood Hospital Paramedics, Lakewood Police Officers and Firefighters, our Public Works Department, St. Edward High School and student members of S.A.D.D, for their outstanding video production demonstrating the tragic outcome of driving and drinking. WHEREAS, for a number of years Lakewood Safety forces and schools have promoted programs like Prom Promise and presented "Mock Crashes" to students to help keep young people from suffering the tragic results of drinking and driving; and WHEREAS, to reach a greater number of students, a video has been produced this year through the collaborative efforts of the Lakewood Police, Fire, Public Works, Lakewood Hospital Paramedics, St. Edward and Lakewood High Schools, the local S.A.D.D. chapter, Lakewood Hospital and a number of concerned people; and WHEREAS, the video entitled "CRASH COURSE: FINAL EXAM" is a powerful example of the dangers of driving drunk and hopefully will have an impact on our young people in helping to keep them safe, especially during this season of proms and graduation celebrations; and WHEREAS, the video will be distributed to area schools and aired on Cox Cable on May 23 at 8:00 P.M, and May 30 at 9:30 P.M. now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this Council and Mayor hereby extend to the individuals who worked on creating this powerful video to combat the dangers of drunk driving their recognition and appreciation. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Lakewood Hospital Paramedics,. 14519 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio 44107, and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting.
