RESOLUTION NO, 7153'96 BY: Boscia, Corrigan, Flannery, <br /> George, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor, on behalf of the City, to <br />accept and expend grant funds awarded by the State of Ohio, Department of <br />Public Health, in the amount of $2,850 for the purpose of education and skill <br />building programming concerning crisis intervention for teens to a cross <br />section of the community. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the recommendations of the Public Health Task <br />Force has determined that adolescent health issues should be a priority in <br />this community; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Human Services, Division of <br />Health, has developed TEEN CONNECTIONS, a consortium cor~prised of <br />principals from Lakewood High School, St. Edward High School and St. <br />Augustine Academy; Representatives from the Divisions of Health and <br />Youth; Lakewood Hospital and the Lakewood School Board; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the focus of TEEN CONNECTIONS has been to <br />expand the knowledge and skills of any individual who may be faced with a <br />teen in crisis; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, we have been notified that the Division of Health <br />has been awarded a grant in the amount of $2,850 to enable TEEN <br />CO~h~JO~ to provide education and skill building programming <br />concerning crisis intervention for teens to a cross section of this community; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said grant funds will be used to complete this <br />project at no cost to the City; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City, be and is <br />hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with the State of <br />Ohio, Department of Public Health, to receive and administer grant funds for <br />the purpose of providing education and skill building programming concerning <br />crisis intervention for teens to a cross section of this community and to <br />contain such terms and conditions as deemed necessary by the Director of <br />Law to protect the public interest. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br />this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were <br />adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberation of <br />the Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action <br />were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal <br />requirements. <br /> <br />Adopted: ~ ~/ /~ <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
