RESOLUTION NO. 7 2 3 $ - 9 7 <br /> <br />BY: <br /> <br />Boscia, Corrigan, Flannery, <br />George, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend St. Edward Eagles Basketball Team <br />for an outstanding 1996-1997 basketball season. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Eagles 24-2 spectacular record was the best in <br />Eagles' basketball history and a reflection of the dedication and athleticism of <br />the players, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Eagles limited 19 of their 26 opponents to fewer <br />than 50 points and are hometown heroes in this banner season for St. Edwards <br />School, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Eagles exhibited great skill and sportsmanship <br />throughout the year, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by their outstanding accomplishments the St. Edward <br />High School Eagles Basketball Team has brought due recognition and honor, not <br />only to themselves, but to the entire Lakewood community; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CTrY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. On behalf of the residents of Lakewood, the Lakewood <br />City Council extends to the St. Edward High School Eagles Basketball Team its <br />commendation and the commendation of all the citizens of the community for its <br />outstanding athletic achievements during the 1996-1997 high school basketball <br />season. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized <br />and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the St. Edward <br />High School Eagles Basketball Team, c/o Coach Eric Flannery, and that a copy <br />of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approved:~.~ <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br /> <br />
