RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />7265-97 BY: Corrigan, Flannery, George, <br /> Roth <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION urging the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit <br />Authority, to reconsider plans to cut in half the frequency of service on the #326, <br />#25B. and #25W bus schedule while implementing a Community Circulator. <br /> <br /> WI'tEREAS, plans to initiain a Community Circulator by the <br />Regional Transit Authority (RTA) have been well received by many of our <br />residents in the City of Lakewood, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, some residents, however, voiced their desire to still <br />maintain an active bus schedule on popular bus rouins, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during the times when the new Lakewood <br />Community Ciroflator is operating, RTA plans to change the regularity of bus <br />service on the # 326, (Detroit bus) 25B and 25W (Madison Avenue buses) by one <br />half, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, residents at a public meeiing held October 14, 1997, by <br />RTA took issue with the exinnt of these reductions and urged RTA to reconsider <br />their plans for such a drastic change in frequency; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE 1T RESOLVED BY TI-IE ~ OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />OMIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That ~ Council and Mayor urge the Regional Transit <br />Authority to exerci~ great care and caution in deinrmining the amount of <br />reductions in frequency of bus service to the #326, 25B and 25W bus rouins while <br />maintaining a welcome and valued Community Circulator in Lakewood. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized <br />and direcind to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Ronald J. Tober, <br />General Manager/Secretary-Treasurer, GCRTA, Stain Office Building, <br />Cleveland, Ohio, 44113 and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the <br />minutes of the meeting. <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br /> <br />
