RESOLUTIONNO. 7297-98 BY: Corrigan, Flannery, George, <br /> Roth, Seelie, Skindell, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Lakewood Junior <br />Chamber of Commerce, (Lakewood Jaycees). <br /> WHEREAS, the Lakewood Jaycess was chartered on March 4, 1938, and remains the <br />longest continuing laycees chapter in northeast Ohio, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Lakewood Jaycees is committed to building leadership and personal <br />skills of ira members wihle contributing to the strengths of the community aZ large, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Lakewood Jaycees sponsored and continues to maintain an active role <br />in the Westerly Apartments and Barton Center in order to enhance the quality of life of the senior <br />citizens in our community, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Lakewood Jaycees founded the Lakewcod Charitable Assitance <br /> Corperazion, a non-profit organization thaz supplies emergency food to Lakewood residents in need, <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, during sixty years of service to the Lakewoed community, the laycees <br /> have hosted pancake breakfasts at the Barton Center and assisted with community projec~ such as the <br /> July 4th parade, the Lakewood Arts Festival, the Children Christmas parties, the Lakewood High <br /> School 1120 program and the Fund Run, and <br /> WIqHREAS, during these sixty years of community service, hundreds of Lakewood <br /> Jaycees members volunteered their time, energy and erahusiasm to one goal...a better community, now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE cri'Y OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That this Council wishes to take this occasion to congramlaze the Lakewood <br /> Junior Chamber of Commerce, (l. akewood Jaycees) on their 60th anniversary and to commend the <br /> ouisla~ding men and varmen who have served as members and who are serving as members in the <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> forward a certified copy of this Resolution to John D. Pazta, President, c/o the Lakewood Jaycees, <br /> 14300 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, 44107 and that a copy of this Resoltuion be spread upon the <br /> <br /> CLERK /t ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
