RESOLUTION NO, 7303-98 BY: Corrigan, George, Roth, <br /> Seelie, Skindell <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Judy Church for her public service <br />'n the Department of Human Services in the CitY of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Judy Church began her career as a Kindergarten <br />Teacher over 40 years ago; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Judy went on to become the Director of St. Peter's <br />Nursery School and Child Care Center for 17 years during which time she <br />established infant and toddler day care and introduced the Elder Program <br />"Come Play With Me"; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Judy returned to Cleveland State University to <br />complete her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education in 1982; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Judy was instrumental in the creation of Lakewood <br />Community Care Center, an intergenerational child day care center in 1985 <br />and served as its first Dlrecl:or; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, JudV came to the City of Lakewood, Department of <br />Human Services, Division of Early Childhood, upon its inception in 1992 and <br />helped create the Lakewood Hospital Child Care Center, where she <br />continues to wore on a part-time basis; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during Judy's tenure with the City of Lakewood, she <br />created the Lakewood Family Room providing "drop-in" programming for <br />young families, as well as maintaining quality and affordable child care <br />options in the City of Lakewood; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Judy Church has received numerous awards for her <br />dedication to children and young families and was recognized as a <br />dedicated, loyal and compassionate employee; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the service rendered by <br />Judy Church be given public cognizance and recognition; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor, hereby extend to Judy <br />Church its appreciation and that of all the citizens of this community for <br />her years of service to the City of Lakewood and further that this Council <br />and Mayor wish her contlnued years of health, happiness and prosperity in <br />her retirement_ <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby <br />authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to <br />Judy Church, 1332 Eriewood Drive; Rocky River, and that a copv of this <br />Resolution be spread upon the minutes of t:he ~e~ng._ /7 <br /> <br /> PRESIDENT <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br /> <br />
